Australians are being warned to watch out for COVID-19 scams as the country starts its vaccination rollout.
Fake vaccine scam have already cost victims millions of dollars overseas – and now cybersecurity
experts fear fraudsters will pounce on vulnerable Aussies.“Scams are out there, theyre’ not going anywhere, and we always say be vigilant – as much as you can.”
A scam email sent in the United Kingdom include a link to “register” for the vaccine, when no registration for the real vaccination is required. The fake site also asks for bank details to either verify identification or to make a payment. This is despite the vaccine being free.
