Wicked weekend waves for NSW coast

Significant wave heights of up to 4 metres have and will continue to batter the NSW coast this weekend.
A strong burst of southerly winds moving up Australia’s eastern seaboard is the reason behind this large swell. These winds were whipped up by a frontal system that crossed southeastern Australia.
At 3am AEDT Saturday morning, 4.0 metre waves were recorded at Crowdy Head, along the Macquarie Coast. Late on Friday evening, Batemans Bay (3.4m), Eden (3.3m), Sydney (3.3m) and Port Kembla (3.0m) recorded similarly large waves.
